Advertising with the Chronicle and HigherEdJobs

MSU has signed contracts for unlimited electronic postings with The Chronicle of Higher Education and HigherEdJobs which will result in cost savings to your department.

To place an ad, please indicate on the Position Approval Request Form (PARF) that you want to post to The Chronicle of Higher Education or HigherEdJobs. You will be asked to provide your fund, organization, account, program and activity numbers.

The expense charged to departments for a Basic Online Posting will be:

  • $160.00 per position for The Chronicle
  • $80.00 per position for HigherEdJobs
  • Jobs will remain active on the job boards until closed on the MSU Jobs website

How and when departments will be charged:

  • Departments will be charged one-time per position in the month following the original date the job is posted
  • HRM will prepare the Journal Voucher (JV) on the department’s behalf using the fund, organization, account, program and activity numbers provided on the PARF
  • HRM will provide a copy of the JV along with any supporting documentation to the hiring manager for the position

Enhancements to Basic Postings:

  • Both The Chronicle and HigherEdJobs offer options for enhancements to the basic online job posting
  • Departments may choose to add an enhancement at the time of the original posting or at a later date
  • Departments should email their Human Resources Business Partner regarding enhancements and HRM will notify The Chronicle and HigherEdJobs on behalf of the department
  • The following table shows the expense that will be charged to departments (via JV) for basic postings and enhancements
  • Each enhancement option is explained in greater detail below the table
