Tier Type of Plan Hire/Entry Date Vesting Period Retirement Eligibility
Tier 1 Defined Benefit Plan On or before June 30, 1992 4 years 25 years of service at any age OR age 60 and vested.
Tier 2 Defined Benefit Plan July 1, 1992 to June 30, 2007 4 years 25 years of service at any age OR age 60 and vested.
Tier 3 Defined Benefit Plan July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2011 8 years 25 years of service at any age OR age 60 and vested.
Tier 4 Defined Benefit Plan July 1, 2011 to February 28, 2026 8 years 30 years of service at any age OR age 60 and vested.
Tier 5

Hybrid Retirement Plan

On or after March 1, 2026

8 years for the Defined Benefit Plan portion;

Immediate vesting of the Defined Contribution Plan portion

35 years of service at any age OR age 62 and vested.

Vested Immediately (may withdraw total funds at any time after separation of employment, even if not eligible for University retirement).
