Upcoming Employee Benefits Enhancements

The Human Resources Department is pleased to announce the implementation of a new benefits administration system called Employee Navigator. This system will go live on April 1, 2026, and will be used for all new hire benefit enrollments and employee benefit change requests.

In addition, updated, enhanced Aflac products will be available for enrollment during the April 1–15, 2026 enrollment window through our new online benefits platform, Employee Navigator.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Employee Navigator?

Employee Navigator is an online benefits administration system that allows employees to manage and enroll in their benefits through a simple, secure, and user-friendly self-service portal. The platform provides real-time access to your benefit options, plan details, and enrollment choices from your computer, tablet, or mobile device.

Why are we making this change?

Our current process relies on paper enrollment forms, which can be time-consuming and prone to delays or errors. Moving to an online system will significantly improve your experience by offering:

  • Convenient self-service access anytime, anywhere
  • Faster and more accurate benefit enrollments and updates
  • Clearer visibility into available plans and selected benefits
  • Automated confirmations to ensure elections are processed
  • A smoother new hire experience and simpler life event changes
How do I log in to Employee Navigator?

Starting April 1, you will need to register to create your username and password. Once registered, you may log in to view your current benefits and enroll in the new Aflac products.

NOTE: You will not be able to register or log into Employee Navigator until April 1, 2026.

What benefits are changing?

As part of the Employee Navigator transition, we conducted a review of current offerings. The following individual plans will be discontinued effective April 30, 2026, and will no longer be payroll deducted after that date:

  • Aflac Accident, Cancer, Critical Care, and Intensive Care
  • National Fire Union AD&D

These will be replaced with a suite of new Aflac offerings, including  group Accident, Critical Illness with Cancer, Hospital Indemnity, and Term Life Insurance with Long Term Care.

Why are the Aflac benefits changing?

Several existing products cannot be supported through electronic enrollment. To support the modernization of our benefits process and ensure a seamless move to the new online benefit enrollment system, we partnered with an external broker to secure updated contracts that provide similar or enhanced coverage options.

What will happen to my existing Aflac policies?

Employees currently enrolled in any of the plans scheduled for discontinuation received direct email communication with details about this transition.

When and how do I enroll in the new Aflac products?

All benefits-eligible employees can enroll between April 1 – 15, 2026 through Employee Navigator. You have two options:

  • Self-enroll through Employee Navigator
  • Contact Enrollify for step-by-step assistance
What is Enrollify and how do I use it?

Enrollify is a concierge service provided by Aflac that offers one-on-one support from a benefits counselor. They can assist with Employee Navigator registration, login, viewing benefits, and enrolling in the new Aflac products.

This temporary service is available April 1 – 15, 2026.

What is the difference between the new and old Aflac plans?

The old plans were individual policies; the new plans are group plans, meaning everyone at MSU is offered the same coverage and benefit.

  • Group Accident: Comparable to the old plan, but often with higher benefit payouts and lower costs.
  • Group Critical Illness with Cancer: Combines two separate individual policies into one, featuring a lump-sum payment upon diagnosis ($10k, $20k, or $30k).
  • Group Hospital Indemnity: A new benefit that pays when you are admitted as a hospital inpatient.
  • Term Life with Long Term Care: A new benefit providing up to $150,000 in coverage with a rider for periodic or lump-sum long term care payments.
How much do these new plans cost?

Premiums for each of the new plans vary based on level of coverage (employee only, employee + spouse, etc.), volume of coverage, age, and tobacco use. Please login to Employee Navigator to view the cost of specific coverage. Premiums for each of the new plans will be deducted post-tax.

Why are premiums now deducted post-tax?

These benefits now pay out as a lump-sum (a set dollar amount paid directly to you). To ensure the benefit payout is not taxable, premiums must be paid post-tax.
