2-4-15 - Successful Search Committees Guaranteed - February 27, 2015 - Register Today

The Department of Human Resources Management is pleased to announce an upcoming workshop entitled “Successful Search Committees Guaranteed.” The workshop will be on Friday, February 27, 2015 in the Fowlkes Auditorium of the Colvard Student Union and will feature Dr. Chris Lee of Dr. Lee is a human resources practitioner, lecturer, researcher, and author. His background includes having served as the chief human resources officer for three different colleges or universities and a state college system. His areas of expertise are employment, training, and performance management—or, in his words, "finding, developing, and managing talent in organizations." He has consulted with clients and presented keynote addresses throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia and South Africa. Dr. Lee holds a master's degree in human resource management, a doctor of philosophy degree in human resource development, and he is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. With Dr. Lee’s background in higher education, he is well qualified to address the unique challenges we face as a University.

The program will be from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a boxed lunch provided. Following lunch, Dr. Lee will offer a bonus session on research-based methods that have been effective in recruiting and selecting a diverse array of talent. This program is appropriate for all academic and non-academic administrators, faculty, and staff who have served, or plan to serve, on a search committee. Attendees will learn how to avoid failed or extended searches, hire the best faculty and staff, select with campus fit in mind, and ensure the chosen candidate will accept your employment offers.

Registration is encouraged, but not required. Registered participants will receive a copy of Dr. Lee’s latest publication, Search Committees: A Comprehensive Guide to Successful Faculty, Staff and Administrative Searches.
