COVID-19 Leave Guide

The content on this page is subject to change based on developing regulations from the Department of Labor, issued federal or state guidance, or other legal authority.

From June 1 - December 31, 2020, Mississippi State University will offer Emergency Paid Sick Leave (EPSL) and Expanded Family and Medical Leave (EFMLA) to all eligible MSU employees pursuant to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).

The leave provided under the FFCRA does not modify an employee’s right to use personal or major medical leave as set forth in our current University policy. Rather, these new provisions expand an employee’s benefits by requiring that MSU temporarily grant additional leave to certain employees due to COVID-19. Please see below:
