Optional Life and Health Plans


Reminder:

  • Benefits-eligible MSU employees may choose to purchase coverage for:

    • Dental Insurance

    • Personal Cancer Coverage

    • Hospital Intensive Care Protection

    • Critical Care Insurance

    • State-sponsored Term Life

    • Supplemental Term Life and Whole Life

    • Disability

    • Long-term Care

    • Accidental Death and Dismemberment

    • Personal Accident Expense Plan

  • Application for optional life and health coverage must be made within 31 days of employment. The next enrollment opportunity is during benefits open enrollment in October, or within 60 days of a relevant change in family status.

  • Some plans offer coverage for family members.

  • Some plans have do not require medical evidence of insurability - others do.

  • The employee pays the premiums for optional coverage.
