A flexible spending account allows you to set aside money on a tax-free basis and use the money to pay yourself back tax-free for the eligible expenses you and your dependents incur over the course of the year.

 

MSU employees can set aside money through two programs - Careflex and Mediflex.

 

Careflex

Lets you set aside money for dependent child and adult care expenses.

and

Mediflex

Lets you set aside money for eligible un-reimbursed medical expenses for you and your family.
