Paid Advertisements
Hiring department:
-
Determine where the position will be advertised.
-
Create a Banner unencumbered requisition (if paid advertisement) to the vendor
(newspaper, journal, etc.). The requisition should be created and approved
prior to the submission deadline and include:
-
Submit a copy of the advertisement in WORD
format, as an attachment in an email to the
Human Resources Generalist. The body of the email should include:
-
Banner requisition number.
-
The corresponding PARF number for the position you
are advertising. (This number can be found on the on-line employment
system and is automatically assigned to each PARF in the “Requisition
Number” field)
-
Name of the publication and date of advertisement.
Note:
-
The closing date for the position should be
coordinated with the publication date for the ad. For example: If a
position closes June 15, but the advertisement will not appear until
June 17, the position announcement should include a statement such as,
"Applications will be accepted until the position is filled."
-
You should direct interested candidates to submit
application materials on-line via the
MSU On-line Employment System. Faculty
positions may direct applicants to submit their documents to the hiring
department and/or the Search Chair. However, the hiring department
and/or Search Chair is responsible for acknowledging receipt of
applications and directing applicants to complete Personal Data
Information Form via the web (See
Steps to Open a Position). Applicants may be directed
to search postings by requisition number by referring to it in the
position announcement. This is a quick link to the posting.
-
All ads should include the AA/EOE statement.
