New Employees: During new employee orientation, new benefits-eligible employees receive a benefits overview and are scheduled for a personalized benefits appointment. Benefits appointments are scheduled according to the employee's convenience, and allow for sufficient time to consider benefits needs. All newly hired benefits-eligible employees are covered beginning with the first day of employment; however, all benefits elections must be completed within 31 calendar days of employment.
Benefits-eligible employees are defined as 50% time or greater and hold positions that are expected to be active for more than 4.5 months.
Important Notice: All employees are eligible to participate in the 403(b) plan, regardless of their benefits-eligible status. The 403(b) plan document currently does not allow for student worker participation.
